National Youth Science Forum

The National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) is a 10-day program in January for students about to commence their Year 12 studies.  It is basically a program of immersion and an opportunity to experience the best facilities available, engage in excursions and experiments and interact with leading lights in science fields - both industry practitioners and researchers.

The goal of NYSF is to encourage students who have interest and talent in (STEM) -Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics - to pursue that interest.

Like Rotary clubs throughout Australia, our club is happy to support NYSF.

We work with our partner school, Loreto College, to find a student who fits the bill, and provide a subsidy for that student to attend.

This year we had two students who have shared the subsidy - Myah and Sienna.  Both made it through the district selection process with rave reviews.

Myah attended a breakfast meeting recently to thank the Club for the opportunity to attend and gave an informative talk about her experience.  She mentioned that she has been able to refocus on her studies in Science because of this course.
