On Friday member Jan Ross, hosted a ladies supper to celebrate the start of the Christmas season. 

This tradition started in 2006 where friends would gather at Jan's home and the price of addmission has always been some grocery items that would be donated to the Salvation Army for distrubution to needy Ballarat families at Christmas time. 

The first year Merv brought along the Salvation Army band and some carollers to entertain and the event has become a staple for the annual calendar. 

For the past 10 or so years the Rotary Club of Wendouree Breakfast ladies have supported Jan and this year we had 25 guests and 7 members of the Salvation Army Choir attend. 

The generosity of the Christmas spirit can be seen in the amount of full bags of groceries donated to the Salvation Army.
