Vicki Fawcus ... 2017-18

A real highlight this year was attending a function at Government House where we met Rotary International President Ian Risely and the Governor General, Linda Dessau.

This year I decided to introduce a membership challenge, all up we inducted seven new members.

Vocational visits during the year included Ballarat Health Services and Her Majesty’s Theatre.

A street library installed in Lydiard Street North which has been well used and very successful.

Club members gave blood in The Red Cross Blood Bank Challenge and our Smoke Detector Battery Changeover program serviced nearly 200 homes of the elderly.

Fundraising is a huge job which included BBQs at the Bridge Mall Farmers Market, Springfest, Federation University Open Day, Ballarat Beer Festival, Coles Bakery Hill plus football carparking and Ballarat Swap Meet raising in excess of $36,000.

The Ballarat Final of the Australian National Busking Championships was a success again this year with the streets of Ballarat were filled with over 180 performers and an estimated 5000 people.

Fifteen different recipients attended our annual funds distribution evening, another highlight of my year.

Social activities included Friday night drinks, trivia nights, musical bingo, progressive dinners and  our  annual Christmas party.
