It has been an honour and privilege to lead this Club during the 2015 / 2016 Rotary financial year as we embraced RI President K.R. Ravindra’s theme, “Be a Gift to the World”.
Our major fundraiser, the Ballarat Swap Meet, was again a great success and a joint project with all the Ballarat Rotary Clubs. Site bookings were up and attendance was also up.
For the first time the Club has been diligently recording volunteer hours by project - an initiative of Rotary International.
The membership target this year was for a net growth of one and I am pleased to report we inducted five new members during the year.
Community Service is an important part of any Club this year we organised the Mt Pleasant BBQ, Red Cross Blood Bank Challenge, Smoke Detector Battery Change Over and Kiss Goodbye to MS BBQ, which raised money for the MS Organisation.
To cap off the year District 9780 Governor Jane Cox advised that our Club has been awarded a Significant Achievement Award from Rotary International for the Smoke Detector Battery Changeover Service.
Fundraising throughout the year has allowed the club to donate in excess of $30,000 back into local and Rotary projects.
