Sue Lewis ... 2002-03

I have enjoyed the opportunity to lead a group of Rotarians who truly make a difference in our community. We have enthusiastically sponsored new community service projects, raised funds for polio eradication and other Rotary projects and had a lot of fun and fellowship throughout the year.

We held three working bees at Nerrina Wetlands and the area is looking heaps better and not so neglected.

Our golf day was a huge success raising $4,200 profit and we donated $3,000 to Here for Life which was a very worthy cause. Club members worked at the John Farnham concert which raised $2,000.

We collected books and furniture for East Timor and books for Ewing House, Forest Street Primary School and St Patrick's Primary School.

A new initiative was developed to assist the elderly members of our community by changing their smoke detector batteries at the end of daylight savings and 24 households participated.

Veronika Kramer arrived from Germany as an Exchange Student,  she attended Ballarat High School and was hosted by four of our members.

Our international committee supported projects in Papua New Guinea, the Philippines and East Timor.
