Mark Bennett ... 2014-15

The Rotary theme for 2014-15 was 'Light Up Rotary' and we certainly lit up lives when we changed smoke detector batteries, donated for the blood bank challenge and cooked sausages at the Farmers Market, Springfest, Sunday Market, Bunnings, the Beer Festival and Swap Meet.

Christmas boxes were sent to Thailand, Fiji and Papua New Guinea, we sold poppies for Legacy, sent glasses and collected odd socks for diabetes sufferers in Fiji and we cleaned up the garden at the Lighthouse Foundation home.

We have been involved in two new projects - the Mother’s Day Classic fundraiser for breast cancer research and a project for 100th year anniversary of ANZAC.

Youth Services was busy with an outbound youth exchange student going to Brazil and an inbound exchange student from Canada co hosted with the Rotary Club of Alfredton.

The club obtained a Rotary District Grant for a school drainage program in Ambon to allow children to use their school yard without the risk of drowning.

2015 was the 25th Anniversary of our club - a significant milestone with three charter members still actively involved.

This year the club was able to distribute in excess of $30,000.
