Kath Venters ... 2009-10

It has been an honour to be the President of the Rotary Club of Wendouree Breakfast and it is something that is significant to me as I was brought up in a Rotary family.

The Club has had an incredibly successful year with members active in our community; hosting visiting Rotarians, meeting our Rotary financial commitments and donating to local charities.

We have also enjoyed wonderful fellowship times with social outings and an interesting program of guest speakers and vocations visits.

A highlight of the year for me was the Group Study Exchange visit from Brazil. It was fascinating to hear about life in Brazil and how important Rotary is to Brazilian communities.

I was very proud that our Club continued to support victims of the Black Saturday bushfires. Members of the Rotary Club of Edwardstown were hosted by our Club twice during the year providing a half way stop on their way to Gippsland. I was incredibly moved by the story of how Rotarians can and do make a difference in communities.

In closing I would like to thank all Club members for their contribution our successful year. We can truly say that ‘the Future of Rotary was in our hands’.
