Joan Williams ... 1996-97

Club members were very busy with Community Services projects during the year. A shopping trolley was brought to our meetings for four weeks with members contributing a large range of food items for the Winter Relief Appeal.

Our club has committed to a three year plan to develop the Nerrina Wetlands from raw material to its planned construction in conjunction with the LINCS (Linear Network of Communal Spaces) Committee. We had many working bee's including tree planting, mulch spreading, native grass planting, picnic furniture installation and painting.

A Christmas concert was held for the residents of Midlands Hostel with our club arranging the entertainment and providing afternoon tea.

Our very excited Youth Exchange Student Marinda Brooks left for Denmark in January and our incoming  student Reality Bissonette returned home to Canada after a happy successful 12 months in Ballarat.

The Rockie Morris Awards, annual awards in honour of one of the clubs founding members were presented to two students, both performing exceptionally well in their studies while overcoming personal hardship.
