This has been an interesting, rewarding and exciting Rotary year. Being relatively new to the world of Rotary, it has also been a year of learning and an exciting challenge.
This year we supported a large number of natural disasters locally, interstate and internationally.
We distributed approximately $20,000 of funds and spent over 500 man hours changing smoke detector batteries for the elderly, cooking sausages at BBQ's and talking to tourists.
As the District Governor, Jesse Harman is a member of our club, we had the privilege of hosting the Rotary District 9780 Conference in Ballarat and were awarded the Presidential Citation with distinction for commitment to fellowship and service.
Along with fundraising, the club has been very active with community activities such as mock job interviews at the School of Mines, manning the door at the Ballarat Mining Exchange, changing smoke detector batteries for the elderly and working bees at Nerrina Wetlands.
The highlight of the year for me has been the level of energy and enthusiasm put into the club activities, new initiatives, projects and fundraising. The level of commitment and passion is a tribute to every member.
