I’ve had a fantastic year as President of this great Club.
Our fundraising year was cut short to only eight months due to COVID-19. During the eight months before the lockdowns the committee raised a total of $22,775 from various activities such as BBQs, Central Highlands Football League and North Ballarat Sports Club car parking.
We stayed connected with our regular meetings by moving to an online platform.
We had a well-balanced range of guest speakers throughout the year to keep all the members engaged and despite the lockdown, we were able to continue finding guest speakers for our Zoom meetings.
This year I asked members to reconnect to Rotary, to the Club and with each other. COVID-19 made it difficult for us to achieve this, however, members found new ways to stay in touch.
Through the difficult times I am proud of the way our Club has bonded to be a stronger unit. The pandemic forced us to keep our distance, but we’ve never been more connected.
My purpose this year was to serve the Club and our members to the best of my ability. I want to thank all the members for their support and willingness to embrace the challenge of reconnecting with Rotary.
