Graeme Bird ... 1997-98

This year the club sponsored students to attend Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, the National Youth Science Forum, Siemans Science Summer School and local primary school student recognition awards. Hanako joined us from Japan as an incoming exchange student.

Our ongoing commitment to the Nerrina Wetlands project continued for the second year and the wetlands are starting to take shape. Club members also  conducted a working bee at Salvation Army Community House.

On Clean Up Australia Day our club co-ordinated two clean up sites - Nerrina Wetlands and Yarrowee Creek. Over 100 people including residents, community groups and Scouts took part and we collected all sorts of rubbish such as shopping trolleys, car parts, plastic, food wrappers and so on.

Members conducted Mock Job interviews at the Senior Campus of Ballarat Secondary College.

The club supported the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal with members devoting time to collect for the appeal.

Thank you to one and all for making the Rotary Club of Wendouree Breakfast a GREAT club.
