Rare Arts & Forgotten Trades Tour

A tour of The Australian Centre for Rare Arts and Forgotten Trades was the venue for our weekly breakfast meeting on Wednesday 28th February 2024.

The centre was established in 2022 as a place dedicated to the preservation of rare skills, knowledge and practice to ensure the language of ‘making’ in Australia is not lost to history and remains alive and accessible for future generations.

Offering world-class facilities for wood-working, metalworking, fashion & textiles, leather and decorative arts, the centre resides in a building alongside 150,000 objects in the Australian Centre for Gold Rush Collections, part of the Sovereign Hill Museums Association.

Following a tour of the building conducted by centre manager Deborah Klein, members enjoyed a light breakfast provided by Kittelty's.
