For those who are unawre, the National Youth Science Forum is a summer school programme dedicated to Year 11 students who are heading into Year 12 and trying to pursue careers in science, engineering and related disciplines. They are also given training in public speaking. The camp is held in Brisbane and Canberra and runs for 10 days each Summer.
Olivia is a Year 12 Student at Loreto College, Ballarat and is obviously passionate about Math and Science; she is currently studying Physics, Math Methods, Specialist Math, Further Math and English Language, "because you have to do an English".
Olivia told us about the wonderful opportunity the Camp had provided her, with visits to the Australian Defence Force Academy, Australian National University and Questacon as well as opening her eyes to the various science career opportunities available. Olivia thanked the Club for supporting her application to the camp and will be recommending it to other STEM enthusiasts.
