The jam packed meeting on Wed 3rd Dec '25 was rounded off by a lively presentation from one of our RYE (Rotary Youth Exchange) students, Merle Kochhaeuser from Rhens, Rheinland in Germany.

We had a quick lesson on everything Germany, from music to soccer and Delfi’s favourite topic … Food & Drink !!

Merle was keen to comment that although smaller than Australia, Germany has a much larger population. She introduced her family – mother and two brothers; her hobbies – running, rowing, skiing, playing the violin; and her village and school in Koblenz.

She spoke of the history and beauty of the Rheinland rivers and castles; and also mentioned things that are ‘better’ in Germany, including beer (others can be the judge) and bread (agreed). Well done! Merle. We are delighted to have you with us.
