Last Xmas Meeting for 2025
On Wed 17th Dec '25, we had our Last Xmas Breakfast meeting for the year - No speaker this time; Present Re-gifting instead (or 'How to get rid of that useless present you never wanted').
President Clare spoke of a very busy but rewarding year, with many events managed/run to raise funds for distribution to the needy community. Clare & others attended the Rotary Club of Ballarat 100th year celebration, and was very pleased to be presented with a certificate from Holger Knaack (Chair of The Rotary Foundation) for our significant contribution to World Polio eradication for 2024-25.
Graham thanked members for their significant volunteering effort, raising funds for distribution, and Mark informed us that Dianne from CHFL was retiring, but we hoped to continue the ongoing relationship going forward.
Garry brought the Xmas cheer to the meeting, with Famous Quotes No. 2 ... Who did say that quote in the photo? "Ask not what your country can do for you ..." or "Life's like a box of chocolates, you never known what your gonna get."
Present Re-Gifting - Members were given a ticket for every present they brought along, and were hoping their number was drawn to select that item they've always wanted. Kay circled members for the ticket draw, and couldn't understand how so many great presents remained after all the tickets were drawn. What, are you saying that members may not have taken the opportunity to select from the quality presents that were on offer?
Clare closed the meeting informing everyone of the great news that member John was out of ICU and now on the road to recovery, and wished everyone a healthy, happy and safe festive season.
