Club Forum
On Wednesday 26 July 2023 we held our first Club Forum of the Rotary Year. A Forum is where we come together to share and learn about our Club.
This time each Club Director presented their committee's plans for the year, highlighting new initiatives and activities.
The meeting started with a beautiful, heartfelt toast to Rotary by Past President and MC for the morning Elissa. She outlined all the reasons why we should toast Rotary, from providing an opportunity to give back to the local community, to meeting like-minded people and building lasting friendships.
President Geoff followed this with a Presentation of Director Pins to Mike and Sarah who were unable to attend Changeover.
Rod, our Membership Director and Website Guru followed with a presentation and launch of our redesigned website that the PR committee have been working diligently on. He also outlined our focus of attracting and retaining members and promoting a Member Care initiative to ensure all members feel valued and supported.
We then heard from Youth Director, Steve, about all the youth programs, including Defying the Drift, National Youth Science Forum, Scholarships for Yuille Park Community College and RYLA.
Sarah, our Environment and Sustainability Director outlined the key dates and projects for the year including the platypus count, Earth Day and Clean Up Australia Day. We are also installing nesting boxes and bee hotels for Mullawalah Wetlands and working with Mayor Des Hudson of the Clean up the waterways project.
Garry presented the Fundraising Committees efforts which will focus on Central Highland Football finals, Ballarat Gourmet Goodies Hampers, The Bridge Market & Mini Market, Springfest, Trivia Night and the Santa Cycle Bike Ride.
Next up was International and Foundation Director Jennifer who talked about our upcoming trip to Ambon Indonesia and the District Grants for the Kitchen we plan to build. She also talked about our sponsorship for the PNG Midwives Buddy Program and outlined the Rotary Foundation and Paul Harris Fellow programs.
Community Services Director Mike outlined all the ways we have and will continue to support the community including donations of blankets, donations at Christmas to students of Sebas Primary, Animal shelter drive and much more.
Public Image Director Ellie set out the committees priorities for the year which includes ongoing development of the Website, quality content for socials, Rotary and Club brand integrity and support for all committees in promoting their activities.
