City of Ballarat's Circular Framework

Group of WAM Volunteers, taken from the Women and Mentoring Website.

On Wednesday 8 November we enjoyed hearing from Siobhan Dent from Ballarat Council about all things Circular Economy and the Waste Strategy which is currently being reviewed and out for community feedback.

The circular economy is a system where materials never become waste and nature is regenerated. In a circular economy, products and materials are kept in circulation through processes like maintenance, reuse, refurbishment, remanufacture, recycling, and composting. The circular economy aims to tackle climate change and other global challenges, like biodiversity loss, waste, and pollution.

Ballarat's goal is to be Zero Waste by 2040 so we need to think creatively about how we reuse, repair and recycle.
