Many Rotarians were present on Monday 28th July 2025, for the launch of the Science & Engineering Challenge (in Ballarat) at Challenge Dinner 2025.

Sponsors & Guests enjoyed a 2 course dinner at the Ballarat Golf Club, and heard from special guest speaker Dr Bob Thurman covering the topic "Will Science Change the World?".

The Science and Engineering Challenge (SEC) is a nationwide STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) outreach program presented by the University of Newcastle in partnership with communities, Rotary clubs, universities and sponsors. The Challenge event is tailored for Year 9 & 10 students as a friendly competition amongst the schools and get them thinking about STEM subjects.

The Ballarat Science & Engineering Challenge then run on Tuesday 29th July at Federation University, by Rotary Clubs of Ballarat.
