Ready for Park Planting Day

Preparation for the next planting at Rotary Centennial Park is progressing well with 120 cubic metres of soil delivered to the site to create planting beds. Most of the bedding soil has been distributed around the site and work has begun raking it to the correct planting depth.

The aim is to have the next 500 plants in the ground by the end of September 2025. This timing will give the plants a good start before summer. Plants indigenous to the Ballarat area have been chosen to create habitat for local birds, insects and small reptiles, frogs and hopefully mammals.

A walking track around the site through the plantings will be a community asset changing with the seasons as years go by.

The next planting day is scheduled for September 14th 2025 from 10am - 12pm. Rotary Centennial Park is a project of the Rotary Club of Wendouree Breakfast and is located on the corner of Remembrance Drive and Ballarat Link Road, Cardigan (opposite Lucas Town Centre).
