Science studies have found that habitat loss is resulting in a decline of pollinators in our environment. Pollinators like native bees, insects, butterflies are essential for plants to thrive - they need homes to support bio-diversity and pollinate our food crops.

The construction of bee and insect homes has been an ongoing project of the Rotary Club of Wendouree Breakfast's Environment and Sustainability Committee for some time.

Members using recycled materials to construct the outer home which are then filled with natural materials creating holes and crevices ensuring a safe protected dwelling.

Nine members gathered at the home of June and Keith Driscoll in early October for the social working bee. 16 hotels are ready for sale at the Rotary Bridge Market on November 2nd 2024, a great Christmas present.
