Outstanding Service Recognised

Dr Jessie Harman AM
I’m proud to report that our esteemed member Dr Jessie Harman has been awarded an AM in the Australia Day 2025 honours list.
Jessie has been recognised for Service to Social Change Leadership and Service to the Community of Regional Victoria. A Member of the Order of Australia (AM) award is made to recognise service in a particular locality or field of activity or to a particular group.
The most significant part of Jessie’s contribution has been enabled through Rotary – where she has led positive change at local, zone and international levels. Jessie has used her skills in education, leadership and governance to advance the ideals of Rotary. Her contribution includes terms as Club President (2004/05), District Governor D9780 (2010/11) and Rotary International Board Director (2021/23). The list of additional contributions and roles between these positions is far too extensive to list here.
Jessie’s passion for Rotary and all its endeavours continues unabated. Hosting a youth exchange student, preparation for a walk to Mt Everest base camp (Polio fundraiser), chair of the RI communications committee and chair of the Rotary Foundation Australia are amongst her current Rotary activities. Her other current roles include chair of Ballarat Community Health, chair of Gason Engineering and board member at UNEP (University of New England Partnerships).
One of the great things about Jessie (and Rotary) is that she participates as regular member of our club - who is (a) not too proud to be person number 4 on the cleanup shift at a Bunnings BBQ (the degreasing shift!) and (b) recognises the absolute authority of the club president in all matters.
Jessie is a proud member of RCWB and everything it contributes to our local and global communities. She is honoured and humbled to receive the award.
A Big congratulations from all your fellow club members Jessie.
