Shelterbox

ShelterBoxes are sent worldwide to disaster areas. Since 2000, more than 600,000 people in some 50 countries have been assisted by ShelterBox ..... and the demand continues to exceed supply.

A ShelterBox consists of 10 thermal blankets, a rugged 10 person dome tent, tools, other survival equipment and children's school supplies. It provides dry shelter, a warm bed, light and heat, clean water, cooking aids and tools for up to 10 people - all supplied in a box ... a ShelterBox .

The cost of a Shelter Box is $1,200.00 and the Rotary Club of Wendouree Breakfast has purchased 5 ShelterBoxes, a donation of $6000 and continues to raise funds to add to the world and Australian stock pile. To date our boxes have gone to Kenya, East Timor, Columbia (2) and the latest one is awaiting deployment. Rotary Australia supplied over 100 shelterboxes to victims of the recent Victorian bushfires.
