Club Raises Just Under $4,000 in 2008 Relay For Life

This year the Rotary Club of Wendouree Breakfast raised just under $4000 with total funds of nearly $100,000 raised in the Ballarat walk.

Thirty members, friends and family signed up to walk for 18 hours. As usual, many people walked for much longer than they had signed up to do. The weather was kind, even in the very early hours of the morning.

Extra funds were raised with pizza sales. Rizzo’s pizzas look after us well with orders and deliveries. Early evening, when there were showers, we were very cosy in the borrowed Scout’s tent. Plenty of warm jackets, rugs and enough people in the confined space for us all to be warm.

Our members, Peter Jacobs, Wendy Jacobs and Dennis Best lead with the survivors and carers lap. Wonderful effort on everyone’s part, especially Peter, who was back early the next morning for more laps. Some walkers were brave enough to have stayed for the full 18 hours.
