Rotary Members Help 'The Salvos'
Our Rotary Club has enjoyed taking part in the Salvos 2009 Red Shield Appeal.
A team of six of our members and their families doorknocked in the Lake Gardens area where $750 was collected.
A few other club members and their families collected in other residential areas in the precinct of Lake Wendouree and at intersections and helped to collect a further $1,100.
These funds raised for the Salvos will go towards helping those in need of food, clothing and shelter etc.

It will also help the Salvos maintain their existing Community Support Programmes such as budgeting, counselling, chaplaincy services and emergency services(as in recent bush fires) etc.
In Ballarat to date the Salvos have just raised over $50,000.......target $90,0000......last years achievement was $87,000. They are expecting to reach target as donations still come in.
Our Rotary club members and their families really enjoyed supporting the Salvos Red Shield Appeal this year. Many said how good it was to interact with people in our community. They especially appreciated the free Mc Donald vouchers well earnt after two hours of walking and knocking on doors.
The Salvos really appreciate the support of our club each year.
