Our BBQ Trailer - Follow its Progress

Years of borrowing a BBQ trailer to aid the clubs fundraising effort led to talk of aquiring one of our own. This would create more opportunities with the certainty that the trailer would be available.

Research by President Kay Macaulay led to Ballarat Group Training undertaking the construction of a purpose built trailer to specifications created by Keith Driscoll in July 2011.

Costings for the trailer based on the concept drawing would have seen us cooking sausages for years before it returned us profit.

The Board decided to pursue community grant opportunities to help get the plan underway. During this process the Ballarat Group Training came to light.

BGT is a training facility for apprentices so a variety of projects are required to provide apprentices with challenges that lead to their successfully completing their apprenticeship. In this model we pay for materials only with labour, supervision and workplace all provided. The cost to the club will be under $3,000.00.

Shane Armstrong is the instructor and is very supportive of the project as he guides a young apprentice through the processes required to building a BBQ trailer.
