District Governor Visits Our Club
District Governor Brian Trenery and his wife Jenny attended our meeting on 5 October, 2011.
DG Brian spoke persuasively of the need for change as part of growth, and noted that it all begins in our own families. Family is the core from which we can ensure that the values important to us are recognised and lived. From there it expands to our communities and potentially the whole world, but it all starts with us.
Part of the need he identified is for Rotary Clubs to look at potential changes to the way the Clubs operate. However, an important component of that is to be sensitive and aware that not all Club members may embrace change.

We need to identify potential changes, but to be inclusive and ensure that members are not alienated by the changes sought.
DG Brian also met the day before with Board members to discuss a number of topics including membership, projects and activities. He congratulated the Club on the number of initiatives we are undertaking and said that we were assisting our local community with the broad range of activities. He also congratulated the Club on being successful with their grant from the City of Ballarat for the BBQ trailer.
