On 25th August, 2010 CEO of the Roosters Football Club, Mark Patterson disclosed a snapshot of the organisation that aims to create an environment of excellence in empowering leadership, self discipline and health and fitness. These aims are relayed into the community as opportunities are sought to engage with all levels of the community.

Kelli Baird Encourages and Motivates
On Wednesday August 11th 2010 Kelli Baird talked with enthusiasm about motivating female student to be comfortable with who they are. Kelli teaches PE and Health at Loreto College, Ballarat where she promotes physical fitness and positive self image. Club members were encouraged to be welcoming, friendly, willing to listen and willing to be a contact in young peoples support network.

Jane Lynch Tells 04/08/2010
Jane began life in W.A.; later she made her way east promoting the America's Cup Challenge. She went on to manage hotels in Queenscliff and Ballarat, and also the Ballarat Tabaret. Jane is now proprietor of Giraffe Marketing based in Ballarat. Jane said, Rotary is the perfect vehicle for her to participate in community service. Welcome Jane.

Clare Bennett Shares - 04/08/2010
Relatively new member Clare shared a short version of her life from life on a farm to being top apprentice while working at St John of God Hospital Ballarat, where she met her husband. Together they went on to win business awards but her best work is three lovely daughters. Clare joined Rotary to make a difference, particularly in eradicating polio a disease suffered by her mum. Thanks Clare.

Tony Chew - Chair of Committee for Ballarat
Tony talked to the club on July 28th 2010 about the Committee's role. Some 90 paid up members work for the betterment of Ballarat by actively investigating economic development, sustainable development, environmental issues and any issue that may effect progress in Ballarat. Members are not politically connected so are free to actively pursue what Ballarat needs.

Member Profile Tim Wills
Tim walked us through his life of misadventure from birth to the present. He explained how he enjoyed the open space of the Templestowe area of Melbourne before he started his course of school changes; each with increasing levels of discipline. His working life wove through study, agriculture and teaching to now working for the State Government of Victoria in the role of Regional Manager of Regional Development Victoria. Tim's added humourous touches to each of his educational and work experiences.

Member Profile - Stuart Riddell
After arriving in Ballarat from Scotland Stuart sought ways of meeting new people; noticing that Rotary was prominent in community activities he went to the world wide web for local information. Stuart found his way to our Rotary club where he now enjoys activities and friendships. Stuart shared a brief history of his life from Scottish Islands to Ballarat - jobs, home, history and family. Jim Nugent on School Building Project in Timor Leste
It took Jim and his travelling companions twenty-four hours to arrive at, Maubisse - Lekitei in East Timor so they could spend two weeks between April 29th to May 15th 2010 on a project to build a school for the children of the village.
