Guest Speaker - Tony Chew
Today's guest speaker is the Chair of the Committee for Ballarat and will be addressing the club members on the activities of the Committee.
The Committee for Ballarat facilitates economic and social development within Ballarat and its region to leave a notable and sustainable legacy for the entire community. They are not party political and work closely with the three levels of government. They identify and work through projects that target priority issues in key areas.
Tony was born and grew up in Bendigo. He graduated as an Industrial Chemist and initially worked as a Plant Chemist at Carlton & United Breweries from 1974 - 1981.
Tony moved to Ballarat as a chocolate scientist at Mars Confectionery. He undertook other roles at Mars including Marketing Manager, International Sales, Corporate Affairs and HR.
He is now retired and enjoys all sport and plays croquet at State level. Tony is also an avid music fan, plays guitar and writes songs for various occasions.
