Guest Speaker this week is Lisa Kendall.
Lisa is the Executive Officer of BREAZE - the Ballarat Renewable Energy and Zero Emissions group - one of the largest and most successful community Climate Action Groups in Australia.
Lisa began her environmental career running an environmental education program with people from non English speaking backgrounds in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. She studied for her Master of Environmental Science in the mid 1990's focusing on community development methods for environmental education and community sustainability indicators. Following this she undertook a Master of Planning and ran her own business as environmental planning consultant, with a focus on community development, open space and environmental planning.
She has co-authored the City of Ballarat's Environment Sustainability Strategy and has recently she has undertaken a research project looking at the renewable energy options for Hopetoun in the Mallee, and behavioural change for energy reduction programs across central Victoria. She has been a member of the City's Conservation Committee and Blueprint Ballarat and was also one of the founding members of her local landcare group. In July this year she trained as an Al Gore Climate Change presenter.

Together with her partner and two sons, Lisa lives on a rural property that is self sufficient with renewable energy, and she is passionate about biodiversity protection and growing her own food.
