Michael was chosen to receive this recognition as a special expression of appreciation from the Rotary Club of Wendouree Breakfast for his dedication to the ideals of The Rotary Foundation. A world of peace and goodwill comes closer to reality as Michael becomes a Paul Harris Fellow.

While these all indicate the depth of dedication that Michael has for Rotary has was also recognized for other valuable contributions he has made to our club – contributions not recorded on the official data base.
We have enjoyed Michael and Rhonda’s hospitality for committee meetings, we have seen Michael sweating over a hot sausage sizzle, he is in his second year as attendance officer. Redundant equipment for Ballarat Health Services has found its way via Michael to the Donations in Kind project. Michael’s quiet encouragement and common sense advice has been supportive for many members.
Immediate Past President June Driscoll presented Michael, on behalf of the Trustees of The Rotary Foundation, with the three emblems of a Paul Harris Fellow: the certificate, the lapel pin and medallion. The certificate states that Michael has been named a Paul Harris Fellow, “in appreciation of tangible and significant assistance given for the furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations between peoples of the world.”
Sincere appreciation was offered to Michael for his commitment to our common goals of world understanding and peace. Congratulations Michael.
Michael's wife Rhonda and best friend Michael Sawitsch were present at the presentation, and while Michael and Rhonda's boys could not be present messages of congratulations were read from them.
