New Member Gerald East Inducted

President June Driscoll inducted the club's newest member, Gerald East at the club's annual changeover brunch held at the Barkly Motor Lodge on Sunday 5th July, 2009.

Gerald's last job after many years in motor vehicle sales and dealership administration was Administration Manager at James East & Associates Pty Ltd from where he retired in April 2001.

In May 2001 he took on the role of Secretary at Victoria Bowling Club Inc. and in May 2003 he also took on the role of Treasurer.

They had just over 200 members and a turnover of around $250,000 and Gerald did these two jobs combined until 21/05/09 when he retired the club at the A.G.M. He was awarded a Life Membership at the A.G.M. Gerald has also served two terms as President in 1986-87 and 1990-91.

On 15/06/09 Gerald finished a two year stint as President of The Ballarat Regional Bowls Association Inc. which had twenty-three clubs in the Association and just over 2000 members. He is currently Immediate Past President for the next two years.

Gerald has also been involved in The Bowls Past Presidents Association Of Victoria since 1987 and has been Group President and State President. For the past eighteen years he has also been Secretary/Treasurer of the Ballarat & District Group and has a State Life Membership of this Association.

Gerald joinded the Rotary Club of Wendouree Breakfast as it was time to get some interests other than bowls. Welcome Gerald.
