Before School Breakfast Club Established at Magpie Primary School

A letter of request for funding to establish a before school breakfast club was received from the Magpie Primary School. A motion of support was passed and a cheque for $520 was presented at the school on Thursday 16th October, 2008. The cheque was presented to the breakfast coordinator Erin Macaulay by President June Driscoll at the first breakfast. President June and Rotarian Des Hudson served breakfast to the students who arrived at school early in excitement and expectation to enjoy a breakfast of cereal, toast, juice and fruit.

Feed back From the School

The staff and I feel that the breakfast program has been very successful in our school so far. The following reasons have indicated towards this:
- Encouraging social relationships - staff, children and community
- Increased awareness of healthy eating
- Great practice for the camping program
- Greater concentration levels in the classroom
The Magpie community is extremely grateful for the generous donation that you made in October 2008 and would be appreciative if you could continue this support for the upcoming year.
